RISING STAR– Clinton T. Wilson, 84, of Rising Star passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, at home with his loving family in attendance.

    Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at the Higginbotham Funeral Home in Rising Star. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Rising Star with the Rev. David Cason officiating and the Rev. Terry Simmons assisting. Burial will be in May Cemetery.

Clinton was born on Feb. 8, 1926, in Midland to J.H. and Mary Etta Wilson. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Mary Evelyn Culwell on Sept.  20, 1947, in Pecos. Clinton and his twin brother Clayton owned Wilson Brothers Garage in Coyanos for many years. They moved to Rising Star in 1965, where they farmed, ranched and worked in the oil field. He was a 32nd degree Mason. After retiring, he enjoyed fishing and time with his family.

Clinton is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Mary Evelyn; five children, Jerry and Judy Mankse of Abilene, Larry and Rita Wilson of Rising Star, Kathy Brewer of Abilene, Danny and Becky Chatelain of Abilene and Mark and Marilyn Gardner of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, Kerry and Maxine Hill of Weatherford, Steven and Cathy Wilson of Rising Star, Scotty Wilson of Rising Star, Chad and Carla Hill of Early, Clint and Patti Wolf of Rising Star, Lindie Wolf of Louisville, Ky., Aimee Chatelain of Austin, Matt and Kistol Gardner of Decatur, Chris Gardner of Abilene and Amanda Chatelain of Abilene; 10 great-grandchildren: Aron Wilson, Makayla Wilson, Megan Wilson, Blake Wilson, Austin Hill, Garrett Hill, Kaiden Hill, Kinzey Hill, Ryan Hill and Rylie Hill.
