BRADY — Funeral services for Blanche Lucille Hemphill Burton, 87, of Brady will e at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels with the Rev. Gene Lyles and the Rev. Jerry DeBord officiating.
Burial will be in Lohn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, in Clarksboro, N.J.
She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Lohn to Robbie Klebon “Klebe” and Josephine (Baird) Hemphill. She was married to Chester Lee Burton on March 10, 1940, in Brady. She worked as a teacher’s aide and operated an antiques business, “Blanche’s Bonnet” in Brady and Pontotoc. She was active in the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Cove Lee Burton of Brady; a daughter, Melva Toy and husband Tom of Pittsgrove, N.J.; a brother, Glen Hemphill of Wenatchee, Wash.; two sisters, Genevah Dean of Alvin and Blake Barth of Temple; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Joe Vanuel Hemphill; and a sister, Mary Whaley.
