COLEMAN — A memorial service for Kaye Hale Franklin, 68, of Coleman will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at First Central Presbyterian Church in Abilene with the Senior Pastor Clifford S. Stewart officiating.
She died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in her home on her ranch.
She was born May 3, 1940, in Corpus Christi, to Frances and Kenneth Hale. She graduated from Midland High School before attending college at Texas Christian University and The University of Colorado. She was married to William P. “Bill” Franklin in 1960. She was a volunteer and a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, a charter member of the Law Wives Club, a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, and First Central Presbyterian Church in Abilene. She participated in the first Palo Duro Presbyterian Cursillo movement in Texas and volunteered with her husband.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Robert Watts of Alexandria, Va., and Molly and Jimy Wright of Dallas and two step-grandchildren, Maegan and Dawson Wright of Dallas; her companion Joe Brosig; six grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Karen Hale of El Paso.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. “Bill” Franklin; and her parents, Kenneth and Frances Hale.
