J.R. Minshew Jr., age 60, of Brownwood passed away Friday Nov. 2, 2007, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Mr. Minshew was cremated under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. A memorial will be held at a later date.
J.R. was born on Oct. 27, 1947, in Clovis, N.M., to the late J.R. Sr. and Winnie Minshew. He was a truck driver for 25 years and worked as a diesel mechanic.
He is survived by his wife Mona Minshew of Lubbock; three sons, William Troy Minshew of California, Jared Ray Minshew and wife Miranda of Albuquerque, N.M., and Justin Ryan Minshew and wife Tara of Lubbock; a daughter, LaShawna Harpold and husband Waylan of Clovis, N.M.; three step-sons, Danny,Jason and Justin; and one step-daughter, Joey; two brothers, Cecil Wayne Minshew of Brownwood and William Curtis Minshew of Abilene; and two sisters, Elizabeth Kizziar of Brownwood, and Joyce Marie Minshew of Tyler; three grandchildren, Jada Minshew, and Gaxton and Bryer Harpold; 11 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, all of Washington State; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister Lynetta Ann Minshew.
