Helen Earlene Kelley, age 67, of Brownwood passed away Saturday afternoon, Aug. 2, 2008, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the Heartland Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born July 6, 1941, in Miami, Texas, the daughter of Herbert L. and Ethel L. Brown. She was raised in Pampa, Texas, and was married to Davie Kelley on July 20, 1957, in Pampa. She lived in Bastrop County for 30 years and worked for State Farm Insurance in Austin. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother who loved sewing, reading and traveling. She has lived in Brownwood for the past three years. She was Baptist.

She is survived by her husband, Davie Kelley of Brownwood; a daughter, Tammy Renea Johnson and her husband Kirk of Lakeway; a son, Randall Kelley of Austin; three grandchildren, Jason Welch of Austin, Kerri Kelley and Dalton Kelley of Bastrop; her niece, Phyllis Cobb; and a nephew Dale Carmody.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, a niece and four nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Scott and White Hospital for the loving care provided to Mrs. Kelley during her illness.
