LUBBOCK — JC Egger passed away July 7, 2007, in Lubbock after having a stroke. He was 74 years old. He was born Nov. 17, 1932, at Indian Creek to Homer and Stella Egger. He was the second oldest son, with an older brother, David, younger brother, Bill, and two younger sisters, Joyce and June. He also had a cousin, Johnny, whom he loved like a brother.

On Jan. 26, 1952, he married Johnnie Marie Beck. They were together for 50 years, with JC caring for his wife until she died in 2002. He had a big heart and was always helping someone, from loved ones to strangers. (He didn’t know how to say no.) He loved to laugh and tell stories of his life and some of his best memories always included his family and his friends. (Do not think because you see me laugh or smile that my heart is not broken, it is.)

Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Jackson and her husband, Larry, and their children, Angela and husband James, and Kayla; Beverly Quinn and her husband, Jon, and their children Tyanne and husband John, Tristian and wife Amy, and Zack; special nephew Randy Egger and wife Eva; sister, Joyce Jones; first cousin, Johnny Egger; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

No more pain or sadness for Daddy, he is in the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loved ones. He was welcomed Home by his wife, Johnnie Marie; parents, Homer and Stella; infant brother, Raymond Lee; brothers David and Bill Egger.

We who are left behind believe we shall be with our loved ones in Heaven someday.

A celebration of JC Egger’s Life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 2810 4th St. Family and friends are invited. Please come and bring memories to share.
