COMANCHE — Patsy Ruth Daniels, 78, died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at the Western Hills Residence Home in Comanche.
Patsy was born on Sept. 4, 1929, in Rule to Lonnie and Bonnie (Hicks) Gibson.
Patsy’s parents and her sister, Jean Evridge of Comanche, and brother, Wayne Gibson of San Angelo, preceded her in death.
Patsy was a wonderful wife, mother, friend and homemaker. She was a licensed cosmetologist and was last employed as a police dispatcher for the Comanche Police Department.
Survivors include her son, J.C. Dodd of Applegate, Calif.; her dear friend, Roy Mitchell of Comanche; her nieces and nephews, Tonna Jo Clemons of Comanche, John Evridge of Newburg, Nellen Williams of Holland, Texas, Ceecee Gibson, Lonnie Gibson and Eldra Sanford of San Angelo. Patsy is also survived by her aunt Louise Spivey of Cleburne, who was not only her aunt, but also a dear friend.
A special note of gratitude is expressed from Patsy’s son to Roy Mitchell, Patsy’s dear friend, who looked after and cared for her for many years and made several trips every day to the Western Hills Residence Home to check on Patsy and to care for her while she was a resident there for almost three years. A special note of gratitude is also expressed by her son to Tonna Clemons, Patsy’s niece, who also diligently looked after and cared for Patsy while she resided at Western Hills. Additionally, Patsy’s son would like to express a note of gratitude to the Comanche Hospice staff who assisted with her care once she became ill, and also to Terri Evridge, for her assistance to Patsy.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the United Methodist Church of Comanche, with Pastor Matt W. Hall officiating. Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Patsy will later be laid to rest at the Sardis Cemetery in Hasse, in a private ceremony.
