Harold Dwain Drennan, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on Sept. 4, 2009, after a nine-year battle with leukemia. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Drennan; paternal grandparents, Charles and Laura Drennan; maternal grandparents, John and Minnie Guthrie; and best friend, Keith Eubank. He is survived by his mother, Clydie B. Guthrie Drennan; wife, Melba (Benson) Drennan; sons, Russell and his wife Jill, Kyle and his wife Greta, and Bryan and his wife Stephanie; brother, Eugene Drennan and his wife Ginny Winn; sister, Marita Hendrick and her husband Nard; grandchildren, Lindsey and Blake Stratton; Brittany, Will and Daniel Drennan; and a host of many other family and friends.

Harold was born on Aug. 6, 1935, and raised in Sidney, Comanche County, Texas. After graduation from high school, he moved to Odessa where, in 1956, he was married to his wife of 53 years, Melba Benson Drennan. He moved to Pearland in 1971 to rear his children in a small town. Harold was a wonderful person and a big tease. He enjoyed attending the school functions of his five grandchildren. Harold learned to play golf and most vacations included at least one round. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pearland.

A special thanks to Dr. Mahandra Jain and his nurse, Monica for guiding his care over the past years; and to his wonderful doctor and friend, Dr. Kelty Baker and her staff, Lisa, Janet, Denise and Kellie for their loving care of Harold for nine years.
