COMANCHE — Martha Sue Ormsby, age 79, of Comanche died Monday morning at Comanche County Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with Dr. Van Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Board Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with lunch following the services at First Baptist Church.

She was born Oct. 9, 1928, in Potosi, Texas, the daughter of Robert Eargle and Grace Jewell Jones Parker. Following graduation from high school, she later married Kyle Odell “Woody” Ormsby on Aug. 31, 1946, in Brownwood. She worked as a telephone operator for many years and also for the Blackwood/Flannery Clinic. She later worked for the Par Country Club and then as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for Comanche County until her retirement.

She was a member of the Methodist church and had been a lifelong resident of Comanche.

She is survived by her husband, Kyle Odell “Woody” Ormsby of Comanche; three daughters, Pamela Sue Dickson of Terrell, Carol Ruth Farley of Comanche and Nancy Louann Abbey of Comanche; a son, Robert Kyle Ormsby of Comanche; four sisters, Betty Lou Hodges of Granbury, Clarice Goforth of Comanche, Jeanice Simpson of De Leon and Virginia Turner of Comanche; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
