The Rev. James Ford, age 82, of Santa Anna died Monday, June 22, 2009, in Brownwood. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at the Santa Anna Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Gaylon Morris officiating and assisted by the Rev. J. D. Fry. Burial will follow in the Trickham Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

James Ford was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Trickham, Texas, the son of Marion and Tavy Stacy Ford. He grew up in Trickham and attended school there, graduating from Santa Anna High School. On June 3, 1945, he was married to Mildred Wagner and she preceded him in death in February 1996. He was married to Charlene Brown Caviness on May 13, 2002, in Fort Worth. Brother Ford pastored the Santa Anna Assembly of God Church for 47 years. He also owned and operated Ford Welding. He was a member of the Ministerial Alliance.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Ford of Santa Anna; two sons, Ted Ford and wife Diana of Lingleville, Joe Ford and wife Nance of Brownwood; one step-daughter, Billie Ann Crye and husband Donnie of Coleman; two sisters, Judy Straughan and husband Morris of Conroe and Mary Jackson of Meadowlake; five grandchildren, Scotty Ford and wife Brandi of Bridgeport, Brent Ford and wife Ann of Alvin, Tonya Jurado and husband Johnny of Dublin, Barbie Benne and husband Tony of Brownwood, Vickie Howard and husband Mark of Arkansas; two step-grandchildren, Wesley Crye and wife Ashlee of Roanoke, Cory Crye and wife Michelle of Roanoke; and 15 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred, and a sister, Peggy Ford Miller.

Family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas. His body will at the Santa Anna Assembly of God Church beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
