Arlene Faye Muniz, age 68, of Lake Brownwood, Texas, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008, in Abilene, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Her body will be cremated under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.
Arlene was born in Girard, Kan. on April 23, 1940, the daughter of Clarence and Effie Henderson Stevens. She was married to William Muniz on Aug. 19, 1995. in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wichita Falls where she sang in the church choir, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood where she served as Eucharistic Minister and was in the Catholic Daughters. She had worked for the Department of Defense as a supervisor and was a former manager at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls. She had been a resident of Lake Brownwood Oak Point Development since May 2006.
Arlene was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She loved flower gardening and enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, William Muniz of Lake Brownwood Texas; two sons, Jeff Wardrip and wife Darlene of Gilbert, Ariz., and William R. Muniz of Indian Rock Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Sherrie Bristo and husband Tra of Lubbock, Texas, and Darlene Muniz of Burlington, Vt.; two sisters, Shirley Burks and husband Dexter of Farlington, Kan., and Erma Jean Dziadula and husband Gary of Girard, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Toledo Stevens and Effie Iola Henderson Stevens; and one sister, Eva Mae Stevens.
