GOLDTHWAITE — Funeral services for Willie Myrtle Curtis, 79, of Goldthwaite will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Stacy-Wilkins Chapel with Jim Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Regency Cemetery in Mills County. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at Hillview Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Mills County, to Garland T. Perry and Betty Myrtle (McGowan) Perry. She was married to E.J. Curtis on Aug. 17, 1946, in Goldthwaite.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Butch Curtis of Brownwood, Bill Curtis of Mullin, Gene Curtis of Goldthwaite, and Roger Curtis of Goldthwaite; daughters, Sherry Archibald Whitt of Baytown, Kathy Green of Montgomery, and Brenda Fowler of Rosharon; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Beulah Ann Wright of Gladewater; brother, Wayne Perry of Goldthwaite; niece raised as a sister, Joyce Heddlesten of Round Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Curtis; five sisters, Ellis Shelton, Ellen Shelton, Zone Shank, Gladys P. Singleton and Jerry Perry; and four brothers, Ralph Charles Perry, Gorman Perry, Sherman Perry and Eammon Perry.
