Funeral services for Geneva Maddox L’Roy, age 88, of Brownwood, formerly of Tulsa, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Leslie and Bo Shero officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Geneva died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, in Brownwood.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1920, in Charlie, Texas, to W. E. and Effie Lavender Maddox. She graduated from high school in Lone Grove, Okla., and college from Oklahoma A&M. Geneva married Lavester L’Roy on March 30, 1941, in Stillwater, Okla. He died Feb. 4, 2005. Geneva and Lavester were longtime residents of Tulsa before moving to Brownwood. She was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ in Brownwood and was a longtime member of the 29th and Yale Church of Christ in Tulsa.

Geneva is survived by a daughter, Janet Leslie and husband Jerry of Brownwood; a son, David L’Roy of Euless; two grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Leslie and wife Tiffany of San Antonio and Jennifer Chen and husband Andy of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Wilburn Maddox of Sterling, Colo.; and six great-grandchildren, Carter, Leyton and Lydia Leslie of San Antonio and Avery, Eden and Ivy Chen of Kansas City, Mo.
