Rogelio Rodriquez “Roger” Chapa, 40, of Brownwood, died Saturday at the Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B.S. Garcia of Brady officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born March 18, 1967, in Fredricksburg, the son of Arnoldo and Yolanda Rodriquez Chapa. He was a concrete finisher and had worked in construction. He was a Methodist. He married Brenda Miller in 1983 and was blessed with a son, Joshua Lee. He had lived most of his life in Brownwood.

He had a deep love of the outdoors and loved to fish and attend family gatherings. He loved people and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his father, Arnoldo Chapa of Ranger, Texas; his mother, Yolanda Rodriquez Chapa of Brownwood; his stepfather, Rafael Navarro of Brownwood; his son, Joshua Lee Chapa; two brothers, Daniel Rodriquez Chapa of Abilene and Antonio Rodriquez Chapa of Odessa; two sisters, Gracie Rodriquez Chapa and Julia Rodriquez, both of Brownwood; a beloved sister-in-law, Beatrice Sandoval of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Daniel A. Rodriquez.
