Funeral services for Mary Rehm Esslinger, 65, of Rockwood, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Rockwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Dean officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockwood Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
Mary passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 7:20 a.m. at her residence in Rockwood.
Mary was born July 1, 1943, in Santa Anna to the late Tony and Alice Lily Rutherford Rehm. She was raised in Rockwood where she attended Rockwood Elementary and graduated in 1961 from Santa Anna High School. She studied at Tarleton State University and graduated from North Texas State University with a B.S. in education/Spanish and studied summers in Monterrey, Mexico. She taught Spanish in Fort Worth ISD, Midland ISD and Santa Anna ISD. Mary was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served on various committees.
Survivors include her daughter, Kyndall and husband Cliff Ross of Brownwood, Texas; two sons, Kurt Esslinger of Chicago, Illinois Tony and wife Edrea Esslinger of Midland, Texas; grandson, Gunnar Witcher of Brownwood, Texas; three sisters, Neva and husband Gene Smith of Richardson, Texas, Bobbie Robicheaux of Fort Worth, Texas, and Vita and husband Roger Gilpin of Laredo, Texas; and brother, Wade Rehm of Gorman, Texas.
