Alice went home to be with her Lord on Nov. 19, 2009, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Alice was born Dec. 24, 1935, in Brownwood, Texas, to Jim Morris Robbins and Myrtle Chapman Robbins. At the age of 12, she went to live with her father in Llano, Texas. There she met the love of her life, Travis Lockhart. They were married on Nov. 26, 1949. They moved to Arkansas while Alice was pregnant with their first child. Within months of their daughter’s birth they returned to Texas. They settled in Austin, Texas, before the birth of their third child.

She welcomed everyone into her home and was loved by everyone who met her. There were many throughout the years who became honorary Lockharts and remained integral parts of Alice’s family.

Alice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Travis Lockhart; three sons, Travis “Mike” Lockhart and wife, Diana, Gary Lockhart and wife, Susan, and Russell Lockhart; three daughters, Sandra Clevinger and husband, Terry, Janet McIlhaney and husband, Frank III, and Patricia Ward and husband, Gregg; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruby McCowan and husband, Reuben, James Evans and wife, Sherry, Teresa Elliot and husband, Gary, and Carol Owen.

Alice was preceded in death by her father, Jim Morris Robbins, her mother, Myrtle Chapman Owen, and her granddaughter, Stacey Lockhart Visage.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Att’n: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309).
