Funeral services for Jo Ann Day, age 66 of Brownwood will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Isbell officiating. Interment will follow at Heflin cemetery under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Day passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Jo Ann was born March 17, 1941 in Brownwood, the daughter of the late Lee and Lillie Stockman. She was a lifetime resident of Brown county and was a Baptist.
She was raised and attended schools in Owens and May. Mrs. Day was a member of the Santa Anna Eastern Star Chapter #247, Bangs American Legion ladies auxiliary and the ladies auxiliary of V.F.W. as well as Brownwood chapter of Elks Lodge #2300. Most of her working years she spent in retail sales and was a homemaker.
Jo Ann was married to Bill Day on April 30, 1959, in Brownwood.
Survivors include, her husband Bill Day of Brownwood; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy R. and Vicki Day of Brownwood and Curtis L. and Debbie Day of Blanket; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Day and Larry Tillman of Coleman; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a very special friend, Roxie Williams of Brownwood; and a number of other relatives as well as a host of friends.
