Funeral services for Beulah Cunningham, 98, of Brownwood, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the funeral home chapel with Paul McClung officiating. Interment will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in the Resthaven Cemetery located in Brady.
Beulah, 98, of Brownwood, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at a Comanche nursing facility.
Beulah was born Aug. 6, 1910, to Thomas Jackson and Laura Etta (Cantrell) Powell Sr. in Placid, Texas. After graduation from high school, she attended Draughton Business School. On May 28, 1938, Beulah was married to Orville Damon Cunningham in McCulloch County. She attended and was member of the 4th and Stewart Church of Christ where she was very active and rarely missed a service. She was a fantastic cook, loved taking care of her garden, mowed her yard until age 90, drove until she was 97, and loved her cat Sissy.
Mrs. Cunningham is survived by sister-in-law Mabel Arnold; nieces, Joyce Wells and husband Leon of Comanche, Darlene McDaniel of Ballinger; nephew, Dwaine Powell of Gonzales; five great-nieces, two great-nephews, and 17 great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband O. D. Cunningham, parents Thomas and Laura Powell, and brother, T. J. Powell Jr.
