Funeral services for Sherry Lynn Gilmore, 51, of Brownwood, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Green officiating.
Private family interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Family visitation was held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the funeral home.
Sherry passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at her home.
She was born on April 12, 1956, in Coleman, Texas, to Mary (Jerry) Crawford and Joseph Gilmore Jr.
Sherry worked for Brownwood Regional Medical Center for 19 years as a medical transcriptionist and medical staff secretary before becoming disabled. She also worked with the Girl’s Softball Association as a coach for many years. Sherry was very instrumental in getting the first girl’s softball park built. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Family was important to Sherry, especially her nieces and nephew.
Survivors include her parents, Joseph and Mary Gilmore of Brownwood; sisters, Carol and Randall Thompson of Reston, Va., Carla and Monty Edwards of Brownwood; and her twin brother, Terry and Karen Gilmore of Oak Hill, Va.; nieces and nephew Tami and Eric Denslinger of Lutz, Fla., Jennifer Edwards of Brownwood, Susan and Ian Kent of Reston, Va., Cary Gilmore of Oak Hill, Va., and Jeff and Liz Gilmore of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and great-niece and great-nephew, Megan and Evan Denslinger of Lutz, Fla. Sherry is also survived by her aunts, Gloria and Herbert Janner of Brenham and Bettie and Roland Duus of Rockwood. Her dog, Prissy, will also feel the loss.
Sherry was preceded in death by her brother, Larry; and her grandparents, Joseph and Eula Gilmore and Hiram and Bee Crawford.
