Elias “Buff” Ivey Jr., 80, of Lake Brownwood, died Friday, July 6, 2007, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Denver City Memorial Park. Ratliff Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements in Denver City.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Heartland Funeral Home.

Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Buff Ivey Jr. was born Nov. 27, 1926, in Yoakum County, Texas, the son of Elias and Ora Richards Ivey. He served in the United States Navy as a Seabee during World War II. He married Lacosta Edwards at Plains, Texas, on Feb. 21, 1947. He was a volunteer fireman in Denver City for 25 years. Buff worked as a pumper for Union Texas in the oil field before retiring. He was a member of Lake Brownwood First United Methodist Church. He had lived at the lake the past 25 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lacosta Ivey of Lake Brownwood; sister, Eva Margaret Todd of Denver City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Bryon and Ellis Lee Ivey.

Memorials may be made to the Lake Brownwood Bridge Fire Department, Lake Brownwood First United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice.
