COLEMAN — Funeral services for William Roy “Bill” Cole, 81, of Gouldbusk, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kermit Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Valley Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home.

He died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Bremerton, Wash., a son of Roy Walter Cole and Ruth Madden Cole. He grew up in Washington and attended school there. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a paratrooper. He retired from Qwest (formerly Pacific Northwest Bell) after working there for many years and living in the Bremerton, Washington area.

In 1980 he was married to Charlene Bates in Reno, Nev.,and they moved to Gouldbusk in 1985. He was Methodist and a member of the Elks Lodge.

Surivors include his wife, Charlene Cole of Gouldbusk; children, Kathy Ratko and husband Larry of Tacoma, Wash., Bill Cole and wife Debbie of Olalla, Wash., Nancie Hibbs of Moses Lake, Wash.; step-children, Darrel Horton of Almira, Idaho, and Shirley Cortez of Clovis, N.M.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Cole and wife Janice of Sunnyvale, Calif.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Cole.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Goodwill.
