Funeral services for Joe Potter, 77, of Early, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmie Mize officiating. Interment will follow in the Staley Cemetery. Visitations will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Friday, June 26, 2009, at his home.
He was born on July 12, 1931, in Blanket to Claude and Virgie (Dunsworth) Potter. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was married to Vivian Bullard at Spokane, Wash., in 1952. He worked for 3M in Brownwood for 33 years before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Potter of Early; son, Chris and Kathy Potter of Owens; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ray Potter, brother David Potter, a nephew, and sister, Nelda Wilhite.
