COLEMAN — Funeral services for Winnie P. Jones, 80, of Coleman, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.
Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
She died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Gouldbusk, a daughter of Luster B. Perkins and Edna Dean Martin Perkins. She grew up in Coleman County and attended school at Cross Roads. In 1946, she was married to Clois F. Jones in Coleman. He died Nov. 8, 1998. She lived in Odessa for 45 years where she retired as a vice president from the InterFirst Bank. While living in Odessa she was president of the Permian Basin National Association of Business Women. She returned to Coleman in 1985. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and a member in Coleman with the Elm Street Church of Christ. She was a member and past president of the Coleman County Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include two brothers, Lee Perkins of Weatherford and Ray Perkins of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Patsy Koenig of San Angelo and Ann Burk of San Antonio; step-daughter, Shirley Tucker of Odessa; several nieces and nephews.
