COMANCHE — Graveside services for Norma Jean Stephens, 79, of Brookshire will be held at 11 a.m. today, in Toliver Cemetery in Comanche with the Rev. Zack Herald officiating. Burial will follow services, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
She died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at The Oaks at Brookshire.
She was born May 6, 1930, in Dexter, N.M., to Burgess Delay and Chloe (McDonald) Delay. She was married to Douglas Lowell Stephens on June 21, 1947, in Roswell, N.M.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Doris Stephens of Houston, Bill and Stacy Stephens of Copperas Cove and Jackie and Rosetta Stephens of Ranger; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and David Shelton of Burnet and Marie and Tommy Johnson of Hico; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Fay and Jim Hudson of Bloomfield, N.M., and Pat Hoxie of Los Lunas, N.M.; sister-in-law, Pauline Stephens of Austin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother; and a great-grandchild.
