STEPHENVILLE - Funeral services for Howard Wesley Northcutt, 89, of Stephenville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Stephenville Funeral Home with the Rev. Emil Becker officiating, assisted by the Rev. Glenn Shock. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at his home.

He was born July 13, 1919, in Hasse, to Thomas James and Lela Beatrice Stark Northcutt. He was married to Irene Thompson Ratliff on March 15, 1986, in Stephenville. He was a graduate of Proctor High School, and served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a 32nd-degree Mason.

He retired in 1974 after several years with Mobil Oil Company.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard Wesley and Ann Northcutt of Mansfield and Randy and Jane E. Northcutt of Shreveport, La.; stepdaughter, Louise Armstrong of De Leon; stepson, Clayton and wife Patty Ratliff of Comanche; brother, Merlin Pres and wife Betty Northcutt of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sister, Edith Jo Anderson of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Elizabeth Moreland Northcutt and Dorothy Nell Mathis Northcutt; a sister, Peggy Hanson; and two stepdaughters, Gloria June Fair and Shirley Ann Sikes.
