Wilma Delores Newsome Hall, 72, of Brownwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. She departed from this earthly life at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Emanuel Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Wilma Newsome was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Harry and Nancy M. Wade Newsome. She attended and graduated from R.F. Hardin School in 1953. After high school, she attended Prairie View A&M University where she met her husband of 52 years, James Hall. She also attended Howard Payne University. Out of the union came six children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She and Mr. Hall formerly lived in Ballinger, San Angelo, and San Antonio, but lived most of their married life in Brownwood. She worked as a teacherís aide, and a nurseís aide, and she and James had a tremendous impact on many lives raising many foster children. She was formerly very active in the youth programs at Emanuel Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her two sons, Howard Hall and wife, LaSonya, of Brownwood, and Harry Hall and wife, Joyce, of Houston; her two daughters, Tamaria Hall-Smith of Brownwood and Kimberly Hall of Waco; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Harry Jr. and Matthew Hall, Erica, Farrah, Karrie and Monica Smith, Nigel Johnson, Justis, James and Cedric Hall, DeVante and Tyairra Stredic and Charlene Neal; and her three great-grandchildren, Sydnee, Kayden, and Trinity.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; two sons, Kevin and Cedric Hall; and a great-grandchild.
