GUSTINE — Funeral services for Viola Rushing, 81, of Godley will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Gustine Church of Christ with Minister Daren Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Hazeldell Cemetery in Comanche County.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Comanche Funeral Home. Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Gustine Church of Christ.
She died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Universal Hospice in Fort Worth.
She was born July 22, 1926, in Antelope to James H. and Minnie Lee “Ensey” Petit. She was married to Heulon W. Rushing in October 1945 in Cuero. She was a Gustine ISD bus driver and lunchroom cook, and a member of the Godley Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Gary Gregory of Hico, Frances and Andy Churman of Godley and Patricia and Levi Adock of Archer City; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Melba Petit of Archer City; a sister, Vera Harrelson of Archer City; and a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and B.J. Sanders of Blackwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Heulon W. Rushing, on Dec. 16, 1988.
