COLEMAN — Funeral service for Helen Cagle Laws, 87, of Valera will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ferris Akins officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ralph Howell. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
She died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Coleman County Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 28, 1922, in New Mexico to William Henry Cagle and Louisa Raumbaugh Cagle. She worked in Fort Worth for Consolidated Airplane Plant during World War II. She also worked for six years in Washington, D.C., for Congressman L.G. Beckworth. After returning to Coleman, she worked in the Coleman County Courthouse. She was married to Grady Frank Laws on Feb. 4, 1956, in Valera.
Survivors include two sons, Grady Frank Laws II and wife Betty of Glen Cove, and Zane John Laws of Valera; brother, Daniel Cagle and wife Dorthy of Paris, Texas; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
