COLEMAN — Glenda Gail Pope Anderson, 65, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Odessa Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born Glenda Gail Pope on Dec. 29, 1941, in Coleman, Texas, a daughter of R.H. Pope and Bobbie Lee Bassett Pope. She grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1960. She attended beauty school and LVN school and graduated as a registered nurse from the Methodist School of Nursing in Lubbock.
On Dec. 17, 1961, she married Ronald Thurman (Andy) Anderson in Coleman and he preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1992. Gail lived in Snyder for many years and moved to Colorado City following the death of her husband. She retired from the Mitchell County Hospital District and had recently moved to Odessa. She attended Westbrook Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Monty Jack Anderson and wife DeeAnn of Red Oak; one daughter, Robin Gail McCullough and husband James of Odessa; one brother, Kenneth Pope and wife Linda of Gouldbusk; two sisters, Donna Franke and husband Larry of New Braunfels, and Helen Overturff and husband Butch of Odessa; and two granddaughters, Lynsey McCullough and Sydney McCullough, both of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her father, R. H.Pope; her mother, Bobbie Lee Pope Gardner; a brother, Robert Dale Pope; and a sister, Gloria June Gordon.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, TX 76834.
