Funeral mass for Fidel Galvez, age 44, of Brownwood will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Serafin Avenido officiating. Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening in the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Galvez died Sunday, June 22, 2008, in Brownwood Regional Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1964, in Waco, to George and Ruby Galvez. He was married to Margie Marquez on Nov. 14, 1987, in Mesquite. He worked as a police officer for the DeSoto Police Department for several years. He had been a resident of Brownwood since 2003 and was a member of St. Phillip’s Catholic Church in Dallas.

Fidel is survived by his wife, Margie of Brownwood; two sons, Christopher and Michael Galvez, both of Brownwood; a sister, Michelle Hicks of Mesquite; a brother, Richard Galvez of Forney; parents, George and Ruby Galvez of Mesquite; a nephew, Forrest Hicks; and a niece, Haley Hicks, both of Mesquite.
