Funeral services for Violet L. Mosby, 88, of Brownwood will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with Bro. David McKinney officiating. Interment will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 28, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
She died Saturday, May 26, 2007.
She was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Aikens, Okla., to Christopher Columbus and Cornelius (Ramsey) Franks. She was a resident here for more than 30 yeasrs, and was a garment inspector at Brownwood Manufacturing. She was married to Sam Mosby on Sept. 17, 1940, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a God-fearing woman and the backbone of her family.
Her best friend was Billy Pinkston.
Survivors include her daughter, Samantha Cardenas and husband Antonio of Brownwood; grandsons, Larry Caperton and wife Felix, and Monty Caperton and wife Leanda of Brownwood, Jernero Cardenas of Fort Worth, and Travis Cardenas of Copperas Cove; and great-grandchildren, Josh, Garrick, Tara, Justin and A.J.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Mosby.
