BANGS - A memorial service for Bruce Gibson “Buck” Mullen, 59, of Bangs will be at 1 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Bangs with his brother Ron Mullen and Pastor Wayne Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery.

Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood is in charge of arrangements.

He died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008.

He was born on March 8, 1949, in Brownsville to Durward L. and Blanche Mullen. They moved to San Antonio three years later and then to Bangs in 1963. He graduated from Bangs High School and Texas State University. He lived in Dallas and worked with his father and twin brother Brad in several businesses, including Joe’s Hitch and Trailer in Dallas and Plano.

He was married to Deborah Brady and they had two daughters. He was married to Sharolyn Byler on Sept. 9, 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Sharolyn Byler Mullen of Bangs; two daughters, Heather and Megan, both of Conroe; stepdaughter, Shy Ann Mayfield of Bangs; father, D.L. Mullen of Bangs; twin brother, Brad Mullen and wife Beverly of Concan; brother, Ron Mullen and wife Carole of Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche; sister, Lana; and nephew, Wade.
