Olive Talbot Rogers, 91, of Brownwood, passed away May 28, 2007.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating.
Olive Rogers was born March 15, 1916, in Brownwood to Anna Garnett and W.H. Talbot. A 1933 graduate of Brownwood High School, she married Raby M. Emfinger in June 1936. He preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Rogers graduated from Howard Payne University in 1962. She taught in Brownwood ISD for 18 years.
In 1980, she married Adrian O. “Bo” Rogers in 1980 in Brownfield. They moved to Abilene in 1980, where Mr. Rogers died in 1985. She was a member of Brownwood Retired Teachers and First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for 40 years.
Survivors include Max and Ginger Emfinger of Covington, La. and Ann and Bill Slaymaker of Brownwood; stepchildren, Claude and Anne Rogers of Bellevue, Wash. and Judy and Jerry Buckner of Laurel, Md.; grandchildren, Paige Ann Zak and husband Thad from San Antonio, Jarrod Pitts, from Euless, Eric Emfinger of Shreveport, La., Chris Rogers of Bellevue, Wash. Shari Buckner from Laurel, Md., and Cindy Rogers from Laurel, Md.; a sister, Helen Egger of Mullin; two sisters-in-law, Myra Emfinger of Sweetwater, and Betty Werhle of Mineola; and three great-grandchildren, Kyler, Colson and Christian Zak.
