Virginia Aldridge Cason, age 78, of Early, died Wednesday in the Medical Center Hospital in Dallas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Democrat Community Center with burial to follow in the Dudley Cemetery at Democrat under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
She was born March 13, 1930, in Democrat, the daughter of the late Dudley Bennett and Annie Lucille Pickens Aldridge. Following her graduation from high school, she attended Draughn’s Business College in Brownwood and later attended Texas Tech, Texas Women’s College and Angelo State University where she received her associate degree. She was married to R. H. Cason for over 50 years. She was a teacher at the Head Start program in Brownwood prior to transferring to Blanket where she established the head start program for the Blanket ISD. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brownwood and a lifetime resident of this area.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Larry King of Pilot Point; a grandson, Braden Cason King of Pilot Point; and a cousin, Marlene Shelton, also survives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a brother, Don Aldridge.
