Graveside funeral services for Ira Arthur Alley Sr., 84, of Everett, Wash., formerly of Bangs, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, in the Bangs Cemetery with Bruce Hess officiating, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 4 p.m. Sunday.

Arthur passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, in Everett, Wash.

He was born on Nov. 24, 1922, in Milam County to Monroe and Amanda Etta Alley. Arthur was a fifth grade school teacher and principal in the San Angelo area and Oregon and Alaska. He was also a Southern Baptist minister and gave his time to build and repair many small churches throughout the country.

Arthur is survived by his three children, Mary Etta Reynolds of Colorado, Evelyn Kimball of Washington state, and Art Alley of Washington state; a sister, Edith Dodson and husband Fred of Santa Anna; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Mobley; and a brother, David Alley.
