Rhonda Kay Peterson Cavanaugh, born May 3, 1959, died May 24, 2008. She attended Sam Rayburn High School, and graduated from Clear Lake High School 1977. Her greatest accomplishment was to recognize her need of Jesus Christ and to trust in his steadfast love through years of debilitating illness and personal trials. Rhonda gave life to a daughter, Amber Oxford Perrard, and a son, Cole Moreland. She was proud of the lives they made for themselves, as well as the fine adults they have become.

Rhonda also felt blessed to have known her granddaughter, Tory Perrard.

Rhonda leaves behind her parents, Mary Beth Cox and Lee Peterson; her sisters, Natalie Herrera and Melissa St. John; stepfather, Walter Cox; stepmother, Margie Peterson; nieces, Randi Leigh Herrera and Jessica St. John; nephews, Ryan Herrera, Nathan Herrera and Gunner Herrera; and good friends, Judy Barr, Dr. Ward Lochlear of Brownwood, Texas, and Renee Zinn of Irving, Texas; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rhonda never forgot a birthday and was the first to call and sing her greetings. She was a life-long friend to all animals great and small and was happiest in moments and days spent beside any body of water under a summer sun.
