SANTA ANNA — Services for Lois Mendoza, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Frances Fry officiating. Burial will follow at the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. Rosary and visitation will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Coleman County Medical Center in Coleman.
She was born Lois Elizabeth Miller on Feb. 9, 1928, in Big Spring, the daughter of John Thomas and Katie Elizabeth Rose Miller. She attended schools in Rowden and graduated from Odessa High School. She was married to A.T. Mendoza on July 4, 1942, in Odessa. They lived in Odessa from 1942 until 2003 when they moved to Santa Anna. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, A.T. Mendoza of Santa Anna; two daughters, Beth and husband Bill Worley of Santa Anna and Katie Ryan of Priest River, Idaho; three sons, Tony and wife Joan Mendoza of Wildwood, Mo., Chris and wife Mary Mendoza of Killeen; Patrick and wife Rocio Mendoza of Eagle Pass; two sisters, Margarette McKinley of Odessa and Conny Tucker of Azle; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Mendoza, in 1987, and by a grandson and four brothers.
