BRADY — Funeral services for Lexia Jane Brock, 88, of Brady will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels with the Rev. Ray Ash officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
She died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in San Angelo.
She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Milam County near Cameron to James Ross and Bell Elizabeth (Griffin) Shuffield. She was married to Oscar Elmore Brock on July 15, 1950, in Brady. She had lived in the Brady area since 1979, moving from Austin. During World War II, she worked at Curtis Field in Brady and Goodfellow Air Base in San Angelo. She was a switchboard operator for the Texas School for the Deaf before retiring. She was a Baptist, and a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Ernie Hegwer and wife Sandra of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Celita Killingsworth and husband Tom of San Angelo; a sister, Murl Osborne of Brady; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
