BRADY — Funeral services for Antonio “Tony” Huerta Sr., 56, of Brady will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at First Baptist Church in Brady with the Rev. Don Ziriax officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

He died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, in Brady.

He was born May 10, 1951, in Segovia to Sabas F. and Santos (Chapa) Huerta. He was married to Petra Castillo on June 22, 1970, in San Angelo. He was a plumber and mechanic who had lived in the area for 37 years. He owned and operated Tony’s Septic Cleaning in Brady, and was a member of Emannuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Petra Huerta of Brady; his mother, Santos Huerta of Brady; a son, the Rev. Antonio “Tony” Jr. and wife Mindy of Junction; a daughter, Cynthia Huerta of Brady; six brothers, Guadalupe Huerta and wife Carolina of San Antonio, Silverio Huerta and wife Luz Alma of Brady, Silvestre Huerta of Bethune, Colo., Domingo Huerta and wife Sarah of Hereford, Baldamor Huerta and wife Dolores of Brownwood, and Ricardo Huerta Sr. and wife Esmeralda of Brady; five sisters, Julia Jones of Three Rivers, Petra Jones and husband Charles of Pleasanton, Maggie Gonzales and husband Willie of San Angelo and Sandra Huerta of Bethune, Colo.; two grandchildren; and numberous nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sabas F. Huerta.
