BRADY — Funeral services for James Robert Hylton, 75, of Rochelle will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at Rochelle Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Barr officiating. Burial will follow in Rochelle Cemetery in Rochelle. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.
He died Saturday, June 20, 2009, in San Angelo.
He was born May 10, 1934, in Beckley, W.V., to Henry J. Hylton and Celeste (Harmon) Hylton. He was married to Phyllis Isla Gouldman on Sept. 24, 1955, in Richmond, Va. He was a mechanic. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Rochelle Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hylton; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Daniel and Sandy Hylton of Virginia Beach, Va., Stephen Jackson and Glynda Hylton of Hermitage, Tenn., and Mark Alan and Paz Hylton of Jacksonville, Fla; daughter and son-in-law, Marti and Tim Luttrall of Rochelle; sister and brother-in-law, Nyla and Larry Flint of South Charleston, W.V.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
