GOLDTHWAITE — Funeral services for Ruth Kirby Parmer McMahan, 82, of Lometa will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 5, at the Church of Christ in Lometa, with Darnell Boyd and Art Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home.
She died Friday, April 2, 2010, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
She was born July 9, 1927, in Lometa, to John Lawson Parmer and Mildred Leigh Kirby. She was married to Foy McMahan on July 3, 1947, in Lometa. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Mike McMahan and wife Keryn of Golthwaite, Pat McMahan and wife Cheryl of San Antonio, and Rock McMahan and wife Sue of Austin; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Parmer and wife Callene of Temple; son-in-law, Jim Gunning of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Ray Seale of Corpus Christi and Charlotte Fortenberry of Slidell; brother-in-law, Bob Massingill and wife Lena of Hope, Ark.; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Foy McMahan and daughter, Linda McMahan Gunning.
