Mary Lou (Harris) Ramirez, age 64, of Brownwood departed from this life Sunday Oct. 12, 2008, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Midland, Texas. Mary Lou was a dedicated mother and friend. She retired from Girling Home Health in Brownwood. She was an especially devoted “MeMaw” to her precious grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Lorene Harris of Cross Plains and her brother Jesse Ray Harris. She is survived by her loving husband Ernesto Ramirez of Brownwood; and three devoted sons, Tim Evans of Rising Star, Texas, Tony Evans of Palm Coast, Florida, and Steven Chambers of Richland Springs, Texas. She also leaves behind her beloved daughter, Shayla Slayton of Brownwood. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers, Billy Harris of Amarillo and James Harris of Waskom. Other survivors include Claudia Sabidra and Sandra Garcia, both of Comanche, Texas.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Pioneer Cemetery near Cross Plains with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are requested to be made to the American Cancer Society for pancreatic cancer research.
