UVALDE — Funeral services for Eloise Cravens Tackett, 87, of Uvalde were held Thursday, Aug. 6, in Uvalde, followed by the burial on Friday, Aug. 7, in Eastlawn Memorial Park. Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood was in charge of arrangements.

She died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009.

She was born March 16, 1922, to Georgia Ann Cravens and Jesse Drake Cravens in McCulloch County. On Oct. 26, 1940, she was married to John Everett Tackett. She was a member of Grandfalls Union Church.

Survivors include seven grandchildren; five great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Everett Tackett; son, Jesse Kirk Tackett; daughter, Georgina Ann Rinehart; brothers, Jabez “Jay” Drake Cravens, Jesse “Cotton” Parker Cravens, Barney “Howard” Cravens; and three sisters Frankie Mae Cravens, Robbie Weston Cravens and Blanche Cravens.
