GOLDTHWAITE – Funeral services for Chester “Chet” Meaney, 83, of Goldthwaite will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at First United Methodist Church of Goldthwaite. Burial will be in Goldthwaite Memorial Centery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home.
He died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Connecticutt to Williams and Gladys Carey Meaney. He was married to Delores Brownwell on Feb. 2, 1951, in Dallas. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was an aerospace project manager and was a Methodist. He moved to Goldthwaite 18 years ago from Irving.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Meaney of Goldthwaite; his children, Theresa Strickler and husband Kevin of Goldthwaite, and Cheryl Galus of of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Benner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William Meaney.
