BAIRD - A memorial service for Douglas Glen Rountree, 55, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, in the First United Methodist Church of Baird with the Rev. Sandra Keith officiating. Services are under the direction of Parker Funeral Home in Baird.
He died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, from cancer.
He was born Sept. 14, 1952, in Abilene, to Robert and June Stewart Rountree and attended schools in Brownwood until 1968 when he moved to White Settlement. He graduated from Brewer High School and later received a Bachelorís Degree in industrial education from Tarleton State University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was an oil field consultant and engineer. He was married to Theresia Vitalis on March 17, 1984, in Gorman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Baird.
Survivors include his parents; his wife, Theresia Rountree of Baird; daughter, Jennifer; sons Sean and Jameson; one brother, Roy Rountree of Fort Worth; one sister, Rosemari Bradley and husband James of Mansfield, Texas; and one niece.
