SAN SABA — Funeral services for Joe (Manuel) Campos, 86, of Brownwood and formerly of San Saba, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, at Howell-Doran Funeral Home with Father Gregory McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow at San Saba City Cemetery.
A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Brownwood.
He was born March 14, 1922, in Post City, the son of Ygnacio Campos and Porfiria Perez Campos. He was married to Emelia Reyes in 1946 in Brownwood. She preceded him in death. He was a presser for the dry cleaners in San Saba for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Joe Manuel Campos Jr. and his wife Carmen of Austin, Roland Campos and Armando Campos, both of Brownwood; five daughters, Christine Hernandez and her husband Johnny of Austin, Susan Salinas and her husband Patricio of Brownwood, Virginia Taylor and her husband Tommy of Austin, Mary Elba Dunn and her husband Patrick of San Antonio and Natalie Armstrong of Brownwood; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rachael Bernal and her husband Lufe of Killeen, Frances Botello and her husband T.D., Mary Mireles and her husband Richard of Brady and Rosie Vasquez of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Campos and one sister Lupe Campos Cruz.
