Funeral services for Bettye L. Pittman, age 76, of Hurst, formerly of Brownwood, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ with Ted Kell officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 7 on Thursday evening.

Bettye died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1931, in Brownwood to Robert J. and Gwen Herman. Bettye married Glen Pittman in Brownwood on April 6, 1950. She worked for a number of years as an executive secretary at the Brownwood State School.

Bettye was a lifelong resident of Brownwood before moving to Hurst in 2004. She was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ and North Richland Hills Church of Christ.

Bettye is survived by her husband of 57 years, Glen Pittman of Hurst; two daughters, Maritia Keeling and husband Alfred of Arlington, Michele Stevens of Grapevine; a son, Mitchell Pittman and wife Nancy of Baton Rouge, La.; four grandchildren, Shane Keeling of Fort Worth, Courtney Atwood and husband Randy of Hobbs, N.M., Caroline Keeling of Arlington, and Austin Stevens of Grapevine; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Isabella Atwood of Hobbs, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gwen Herman and a brother, Bob R. Herman.
