COMANCHE — Funeral services for Bob “B.J.” Jansen, 68, of Comanche will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Father Philip McNamara officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County.
Lunch will be at the family home, 801 E. Grand Ave., following the service.
He died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Comanche County Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Jacksonville, Fla., to William and Lois Hayworth Jansen. He served in the U.S. Air Force after 25 years, retiring as a chief master sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion at Center Point, the Lackland Rod and Gun Club in San Antonio and served as a Scoutmaster for Cub and Boy Scouts in Center Point. He was a Catholic. He was married to Betty Truly on Feb. 14, 1987, in San Antonio.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jansen of Comanche; two daughters, Barbara Jansen Gomez of San Antonio and Jessica Ann Jansen of Orange Park, Fla.; two sons, Stephen Kennedy of San Antonio and Jimmy Ray Jansen of Comanche; two brothers, Jimmy Everette and Ricky Crosby, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
