CHEROKEE - Graveside services for Marvin Franklin Foster Jr., 80, of Cherokee will be at 10 a.m. today at the Gray Cemetery in Cherokee with Thomas Bowden officiating. Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba is in charge of arrangements.

He died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at his home.

He was born June 20, 1928 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Marvin Franklin Foster Sr. and Flora Lee Boone. He was married twice to Patricia Prince Foster, and they had six children.

He was an attorney and practiced law for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Foster of Cherokee; three sons, Mark Foster of Brady, Tony Foster and wife Gail of Tulsa, Okla., and James Foster of San Angelo; three daughters, Sharon Kirkpatrick of Houston, Rory Foster Garcia of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, John Foster and his wife Nina of Florida; and two sisters, Sherry Foster and Linda Foster, both of Houston.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dawn Foster Whorley, and a grandchild, Stephen Harris.

Memorials may be made to the Gray Cemetery or to the Cherokee Volunteer Fire Department.
