COMANCHE - Graveside services with full military honors for John Franklin Allen, 74, of Fort Worth, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the White Point Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Harris Methodist Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Bowie, Ariz., the son of Clyde and Mertie Anderson Allen. He served in the U.S. Army and later enlisted with the U.S. Air Force, where he retired as a Tech Sergeant. He was married to Betty Marie Michaels in South Dakota in March of 1965. He had lived in Fort Worth for several years where he worked in various military stations. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife Betty Allen of Fort Worth; two sisters, Nellie Rice of Hamilton; and Edna Buckmasteer of Comanche; one brother, Bill Allen of Tucson, Ariz. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
